Phoebe Winterbottom has a wild imagination and tends to believe that people are either good or evil. She makes up stories about her neighbor, Mrs. Cadaver, believing that she murdered her husband, and about the boy who knocks on her front door, believing that he is a lunatic. I could tell that Mrs.
Winterbottom was trying to rise above some awful sadness she was feeling, but Prudence couldn't see that. Prudence had her own agenda, just as I had had my own agenda that day my mother wanted me to walk with her.
I couldn't see my own mother's sadness. The Finneys provide an exception to these patterns, but, significantly, Mrs. Finney, Mary Lou's mother, works.

I think the lunatic is Ms. Cadavar or the young man. I think that the lunatic could be Ms. Cadavar because think about it she is kind of quiet she also likes Sals dad, but I don't ever recall a time where Mrs.
Winterbottom ever said anything to Ms. Cadavar. And by. Mrs. Cadaver was the nurse on duty in the emergency room the night of the bus accident.
